Advertising Policy

Last updated: March 31, 2026

This Advertising Policy explains the rules that apply to ads, sponsored placements, paid promotions, and other commercial messaging shown on or through Ringu. It applies to advertisers, agencies, creators, businesses, and anyone using Ringu tools to distribute paid or promotional content.

This policy supplements Ringu's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Creator Monetization Policy, Platform Policy, and any campaign-specific terms, targeting requirements, or product notices.

1. General Principles

Ads on Ringu must be lawful, truthful, and clearly presented. They must not deceive people about who is speaking, what is being offered, or what users are being asked to do.

We may review ads before or after they run and may reject, limit, or remove ads that create legal, safety, integrity, or reputational risk.

2. Disclosure and Identity

Advertisers must accurately identify the business, brand, person, or organization responsible for an ad. If Ringu provides disclosure, authorization, or disclaimer tools, you must use them when required.

Ads must not:

  • impersonate another person, brand, or public authority;
  • hide or misstate the commercial nature of the message;
  • direct users to landing pages that materially differ from the promoted offer.

3. Prohibited Content

Ads may not promote or facilitate:

  • scams, fraud, phishing, counterfeit goods, or deceptive business practices;
  • hate, harassment, violence, or exploitative sexual content;
  • illegal products, services, or instructions for illegal conduct;
  • malware, spyware, unauthorized data collection, or attempts to compromise devices, accounts, or networks;
  • misleading health, financial, or employment claims.

Ads must also comply with the Community Guidelines and any product-specific ad format requirements.

4. Restricted Categories

Some categories are prohibited entirely or allowed only with additional review, targeting limits, geography limits, disclosures, or eligibility checks. These may include:

  • alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, or vaping products;
  • gambling and gaming with monetary stakes;
  • financial products, loans, credit, insurance, or investment promotions;
  • political, electoral, or issue advertising;
  • health, medical, wellness, or weight-loss claims;
  • dating, beauty, cosmetic procedures, and adult-oriented products;
  • products or services directed at minors or involving sensitive personal data.

Ringu may require documentation, certification, age-gating, or jurisdictional restrictions before allowing ads in a restricted category.

5. Targeting and Data Use

Advertisers may use only the targeting options and audience tools that Ringu expressly provides. You may not use Ringu ad tools to discriminate unlawfully or to target people based on highly sensitive characteristics except where clearly permitted by law and Ringu policy.

You may not upload, combine, or use data for ad targeting in ways that violate privacy law, user expectations, or Ringu's Platform Policy.

6. Landing Pages and Product Experience

Landing pages, apps, and checkout flows connected to ads must function properly, be reasonably secure, and match the claims made in the ad.

They must not:

  • use broken, misleading, or bait-and-switch flows;
  • automatically download software or collect data without appropriate notice;
  • conceal key pricing, subscription, or recurring-charge terms;
  • route users to unsafe, low-quality, or policy-evasive destinations.

7. Creator and Branded Content Ads

When creators participate in paid campaigns, endorsements, affiliate activity, or branded placements, both the advertiser and the creator remain responsible for compliance with this policy and applicable law.

Ringu may require the use of branded-content labels, partnership disclosures, audience restrictions, or extra review for influencer-led ad campaigns.

8. Enforcement

If an ad, advertiser, campaign, or related account violates this policy, Ringu may:

  • reject or remove the ad;
  • limit delivery, targeting, or placement options;
  • require edits, disclosures, or documentation;
  • suspend or disable advertising accounts, payment methods, or related business tools;
  • refer suspected fraud or illegal conduct to appropriate authorities.

Repeated or serious violations may affect access to other Ringu commercial or creator products.

9. Changes to This Policy

Ringu may update this Advertising Policy to reflect new product features, legal requirements, platform risks, or enforcement learnings. Material changes may be communicated through the service or by other reasonable means.
