Terms of Service

Last updated: March 31, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Ringu's apps, websites, software, APIs, and related services. They form a binding agreement between you and the operator of Ringu. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use Ringu.

These Terms of Service should be read together with Ringu's Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy, Community Guidelines, Youth Safety Policy, Creator Monetization Policy, Intellectual Property Policy, Platform Policy, and any feature-specific rules, product notices, or supplemental terms that apply to your use of the service.

1. The Ringu Service

Ringu is a social network that allows people to create profiles, post content, discover creators and communities, follow other accounts, communicate with other users, and use creative, social, and commercial features that Ringu may make available from time to time.

Part of the service may include personalized ranking, recommendations, notifications, safety systems, moderation tools, advertiser or commerce features, and account-level controls. Ringu may change, improve, suspend, or discontinue features over time.

2. How the Service Is Funded

Ringu may offer free features, paid features, creator monetization, business tools, advertising, subscriptions, digital goods, or commerce services.

If we offer paid or promotional features, pricing and important terms will be presented to you before purchase or enrollment. If we offer advertising, we may show sponsored content, promotions, or other commercial material in or around the service.

3. Who Can Use Ringu

You may use Ringu only if:

  • you are at least 13 years old, or any higher minimum age required by the law where you live to use the service without parental consent;
  • you are legally permitted to use the service and enter into this agreement;
  • we have not previously disabled your account for serious or repeated violations of our terms or policies;
  • you are not barred from receiving the service under applicable law.

If you use Ringu on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these terms.

4. Your Account

Some parts of Ringu may be available without an account, but many features require one.

When you create or maintain an account, you must:

  • provide accurate and reasonably up-to-date information;
  • keep your login credentials secure;
  • not share your account in unauthorized ways;
  • notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account unless the use was unauthorized and not caused by your failure to protect your credentials.

5. What You Can Do on Ringu

Subject to these terms and our policies, you may use Ringu to:

  • create, publish, and delete content;
  • view and interact with content posted by others;
  • follow accounts, build communities, and use social features;
  • use other features that we make available to you.

Your right to use Ringu is limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and subject to these terms.

6. What You Cannot Do on Ringu

You may not, and may not help others to:

  • break the law or use Ringu for illegal, fraudulent, misleading, or unauthorized purposes;
  • impersonate another person or organization or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • violate another person's rights, including privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights;
  • post, share, or distribute harmful, abusive, exploitative, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative, violent, deceptive, or otherwise prohibited content;
  • exploit minors or engage in inappropriate contact or grooming behavior;
  • send spam, manipulate engagement, run inauthentic account networks, or evade enforcement;
  • misuse reporting, appeals, or complaint systems by submitting false, fraudulent, abusive, or groundless notices;
  • scrape, harvest, or collect data from the service through unauthorized automated means;
  • attempt to access accounts, systems, tokens, or data without authorization;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or interfere with the operation or security of the service;
  • buy, sell, transfer, or license accounts, usernames, or data obtained through Ringu except where we expressly allow it.

7. Your Content

You remain the owner of content you create and post to Ringu, to the extent you own the underlying rights. You are responsible for your content and for ensuring that you have the rights needed to post, use, and share it.

You understand that content you post may be visible to others based on your settings and the nature of the feature you use. Other users may comment on, share, remix, capture, or reference your content where the product allows.

8. Rights You Grant to Ringu

To operate and improve the service, you grant Ringu a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable, worldwide license to host, store, use, reproduce, distribute, display, perform, adapt, translate, and create derivative works from content you submit, post, or otherwise make available on Ringu, but only for purposes related to operating, providing, improving, securing, promoting, and developing the service.

This license ends when your content is deleted from our systems, except to the extent:

  • your content has been shared, reused, or incorporated by others as allowed by the product;
  • we retain it for backups, safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or other legitimate purposes described in our policies;
  • immediate deletion is not technically feasible.

If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation.

9. Intellectual Property and Brand Rights

Ringu and its licensors own the service, including our software, visual design, branding, trademarks, and other protected materials, except for user content.

These terms do not give you ownership of Ringu's intellectual property. You may not use Ringu's name, logos, branding, or service materials except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

10. Paid Features and Commercial Activity

If Ringu offers subscriptions, digital items, paid creator features, commerce, or other commercial tools, additional terms may apply. You must also comply with all applicable disclosure, advertising, consumer protection, tax, and payments laws when using Ringu for business, promotional, or monetized purposes.

If you post branded content, endorsements, affiliate promotions, or sponsored material, you must make any disclosures required by law and by Ringu's product rules.

11. Moderation and Enforcement

Ringu uses a combination of automated systems, human review, and user reports to detect, review, and enforce violations of these terms and related policies.

We may remove, restrict, label, age-gate, reduce distribution of, or otherwise take action on content or accounts if we reasonably believe that doing so is necessary to:

  • enforce these terms or our policies;
  • protect users, Ringu, partners, or the public;
  • respond to legal obligations or valid legal requests;
  • prevent fraud, spam, abuse, or security threats.

Where appropriate, we may notify you and provide an opportunity to appeal or request another review. In some situations, immediate action may be necessary.

12. Termination and Suspension

You may stop using Ringu at any time. You may also delete your account using the controls we provide.

We may suspend, limit, or terminate your account or access to some or all of the service if:

  • you materially or repeatedly violate these terms or our policies;
  • you create legal, security, safety, or reputational risk;
  • we are required to do so by law or valid legal process;
  • we need to address fraud, abuse, impersonation, or technical threats;
  • your account appears to be underage, compromised, or used in unauthorized ways.

Certain sections of these terms will continue to apply after termination, including provisions about content rights, dispute resolution, liability, intellectual property, and enforcement.

13. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and retain personal information. Our Cookies Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies. Those policies are important and should be read together with these terms.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

Ringu works to provide a safe, stable, and useful service, but the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law.

We do not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or available in every location or for every use case. We are not responsible for content posted by users or third parties, and we do not endorse every opinion, product, or service that appears on Ringu.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Ringu will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including for fraud, willful misconduct, or liability that cannot be disclaimed under applicable consumer law.

16. Changes to the Service or These Terms

We may update the service and these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the service, by email, or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of Ringu after updated terms become effective means the updated terms will apply going forward.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally.

If local law requires a different result, disputes relating to these terms or the service will be governed by the law of the jurisdiction where the Ringu service operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

You may have the right to bring claims in the courts of your place of residence or another court required by applicable consumer law. If you use Ringu for business purposes, you agree that disputes may be resolved in the courts chosen by the Ringu service operator, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

18. Other Terms

If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining parts will stay in effect.

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our consent. We may assign our rights or obligations as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.

Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
