Platform Policy
Last updated: March 31, 2026
This Platform Policy applies to developers, businesses, service providers, and other organizations that access or use Ringu APIs, SDKs, developer tools, embeds, authentication flows, or other approved integration points collectively, the "Platform."
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to comply with this Platform Policy, any applicable developer documentation, technical requirements, and all applicable laws and regulations.
1. Scope and Eligibility
You may use the Platform only if you are authorized to bind yourself or the entity you represent. You are responsible for the conduct of your employees, contractors, service providers, and anyone who accesses the Platform through your account, credentials, or integration.
Ringu may require registration, business verification, app review, security disclosures, or other approval steps before granting or continuing access.
2. Permitted Use
You may use the Platform only for the specific use cases approved by Ringu and described in current documentation or your approval materials. Your integration must provide a real and user-benefiting experience and may only access data that is necessary for that experience.
If a feature, permission, or dataset is limited to a documented purpose, you may not repurpose it for unrelated analytics, profiling, resale, surveillance, or competitive intelligence.
3. Prohibited Conduct
You may not, and may not allow others to:
- access or use the Platform without authorization or beyond approved scope;
- sell, license, rent, broker, or otherwise monetize Platform access or Platform Data except as expressly allowed by Ringu;
- use Platform Data to build or enrich profiles for unrelated advertising, surveillance, credit, employment, housing, insurance, education, or other high-risk eligibility decisions;
- scrape, crawl, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover source code, private endpoints, or non-public functionality;
- circumvent rate limits, technical protections, review gates, enforcement actions, or access controls;
- transfer Platform Data to third parties except as allowed under this policy;
- use the Platform in a way that infringes intellectual property rights, violates privacy rights, or misleads users about your identity or affiliation;
- create integrations that facilitate spam, harassment, account compromise, manipulation of engagement, or other abusive behavior.
4. Platform Data Use
"Platform Data" means information you receive from Ringu, through the Platform, or from users through approved Ringu integrations.
You may process Platform Data only:
- for the approved and user-facing purpose for which it was provided;
- in a way that is consistent with your disclosures to users and with applicable law;
- for as long as the data remains necessary for that approved purpose.
You must not keep Platform Data longer than necessary, and you must delete or de-identify it when:
- the user asks you to delete it;
- the user disconnects your app or integration where applicable;
- the approved purpose ends;
- Ringu asks you to delete it for safety, privacy, or compliance reasons;
- your access to the relevant feature is suspended or terminated.
5. User Notice and Privacy Requirements
You must maintain a clear, accurate, and publicly available privacy policy that explains what data you collect, how you use it, who you share it with, how users can contact you, and how users can request deletion where applicable.
You must provide any additional notice or obtain any additional consent required by law before collecting, syncing, or using personal information through the Platform.
If your integration materially changes its data use, feature set, or audience, Ringu may require you to submit the change for renewed review before continuing access.
6. Security Requirements
You must maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the Platform Data you process. At a minimum, you must:
- protect credentials, tokens, secrets, and keys from unauthorized disclosure;
- use encryption in transit and, where appropriate, at rest;
- restrict internal access to people who need it for the approved use case;
- maintain processes to detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents;
- promptly patch known vulnerabilities affecting systems that access the Platform.
If you become aware of unauthorized access to Platform Data, misuse of tokens, or an incident reasonably likely to affect Ringu users or systems, you must notify Ringu without undue delay at hello@ringu.group.
7. Service Providers
You may use service providers in connection with the Platform only if they are bound by written obligations to:
- process Platform Data only on your behalf and for the approved purpose;
- protect Platform Data using appropriate safeguards;
- not sell, reuse, or disclose Platform Data for their own purposes;
- delete Platform Data when their services end or when deletion is required.
You remain responsible for your service providers' conduct.
8. Branding and Representation
You may not imply that Ringu sponsors, endorses, certifies, or is otherwise responsible for your app, business, or service unless Ringu has expressly agreed to that in writing.
If Ringu provides brand assets or naming guidance, you must follow that guidance. Ringu may require you to modify or stop using branding that creates confusion or misrepresents the relationship between your service and Ringu.
9. Monitoring, Review, and Audit
Ringu may review integrations for compliance with this Platform Policy, documentation, and applicable law. This may include technical testing, document requests, app review, or requests for information about your data practices.
You must cooperate with reasonable compliance inquiries and provide timely, accurate information about your integration, use of Platform Data, and relevant service providers.
10. Suspension and Termination
Ringu may limit, suspend, or terminate access to the Platform at any time if we reasonably believe that:
- you violated this Platform Policy or another applicable agreement;
- your integration creates security, privacy, legal, or reputational risk;
- you exceeded approved scope or failed to respond to a compliance request;
- continued access could harm Ringu, users, partners, or the public;
- we are required to act by law, court order, or regulator.
Ringu may also disable unused credentials, rotate secrets, or restrict features that are no longer actively supported.
11. Changes to the Platform
Ringu may change, limit, deprecate, or discontinue Platform features, access methods, permissions, or documentation. Where reasonable, we may provide notice, but immediate changes may be necessary for security, safety, legal, or product reasons.
12. Feedback and Intellectual Property
Ringu and its licensors retain all rights in the Platform, documentation, software, and related materials. Except for limited rights needed to operate an approved integration, this Platform Policy does not grant you ownership of the Platform.
If you send feedback or suggestions about the Platform, you allow Ringu to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.
